Der Malteser Platz hat seinen Namen von der Priorei der Ritter von Mala, die fr\u00fcher diesen Teil des Kleinen Viertels besetzte. Am n\u00f6rdlichen Ende steht eine Skulpturengruppe Johannes des T\u00e4ufers von Ferdinand Brokopf &#8211; Teil eines Brunnens zur Erinnerung an das Ende einer Plaque-Epidemie.<\/p>\n<p>Die meisten Geb\u00e4ude waren urspr\u00fcnglich Renaissanceh\u00e4user, die wohlhabenden Stadtbewohnern geh\u00f6rten, aber im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert wurde die Kleinseite vom katholischen Adel \u00fcbernommen und viele wurden in extravagante Barockpal\u00e4ste umgewandelt. Das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Schloss ist Schloss Nostitz (ein Teil des Schlosses beherbergt heute die niederl\u00e4ndische Botschaft) \u2013 im Sommer finden im Schloss Konzerte statt. Die japanische Botschaft befindet sich direkt neben Ihrem Prager Segway-Punkt im Turba-Palast (1767), einem attraktiven rosafarbenen Rokoko-Geb\u00e4ude, das von Joseph Jaeger entworfen
